Professional Development ScholarshipThe professional development scholarship is a merit-based scholarship that also takes into account financial needs (e.g., working for an organization with limited or no professional development budget.) The recipient will receive a stipend of up to $1,500 for professional development activities offered by Apra Carolinas or Apra International. The recipient is asked to write a blog post about their experience using the scholarship. In 2024 we were able to award three scholarships to our members. We are currently accepting applications for the Membership Scholarship! | Membership ScholarshipCreated in 2021, the membership scholarship is a merit-based scholarship that takes into account financial need. Circumstances to apply for the membership scholarship may include being furloughed or laid-off, working for an organization with limited or no professional development budget, being new to the profession, or other considerations which require help affording our membership fees. The recipient will receive a full membership to Apra Carolinas, which includes access to all member benefits, for the calendar year during which the scholarship is awarded. This scholarship is only available to prospect development professionals based in North Carolina or South Carolina. Road Trip GrantThe Road Trip grant covers travel expenses for any Apra Carolinas member to spend a day with another Prospect Development professional at an institution of their choosing anywhere in the Carolinas. This opportunity can be used to learn about processes, procedures, CRM, a specific project, or some other prospect development related topic within their organization. Up to two road trip grants can be awarded within each calendar year. The grant covers travel expenses (gas, meals, and 1 night of lodging) up to $300. The recipient is asked to contribute to a blog post about their road trip experience. In 2023, we have awarded two Road Trip Grants! Nicole Tekulve of Kettering University used her award to travel to Elon University for a full day of learning with former Apra Carolinas President Merissa Lawson and current board member Megan Gregg. Avril Wilson of USC visited The Citadel to learn from former Apra Carolinas board member Lisa Ukuku. |
