through professional development and education among members and to be a resource for information about our profession
to the community.

APRA Carolinas Board Nominations
Nominations for the positions listed below will open on Monday, Nov 7 and close on Friday Nov 18. Please submit nominations via this electronic nomination form. Our chapter elections will open on Monday, Nov 21 and close on Friday, Dec 2. Please thoughtfully consider nominating yourself or a colleague for one of these positions; if you nominate someone, please make sure they know they are being nominated. If you have any questions about the positions, please don’t hesitate to contact Beth Inman at email@example.com.
A large portion of our Board's terms continue into 2017, but the positions that need to be filled are:
NC & SC Regional Representatives
The responsibilities of the regional representatives are to be the eyes and ears of the chapter. They serve on the Board and are members of the Nominating committee. In addition, regional representatives may be asked to assist in areas such as membership, blog, and other activities. The term is 1 year with no more than 3 consecutive years and the time commitment is about 4-6 hours per month.
Board Members & Committee Chairs returning for 2017:
If you are interested in being a member of the membership or the communications committee, please contact Beth Inman.
Apply for the APRA Carolinas Professional Development Scholarship
The APRA Carolinas Professional Development Scholarship is based on merit, and financial need (working for an organization with a limited or no training budget, for example) is a factor in this award. The award recipient will receive a stipend of up to $1,500 to be applied toward professional development activities offered by APRA-Carolinas or APRA International, for example:
· Registration and travel expenses for all APRA-Carolinas events held within a 12-month period. APRA-C events typically run from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and are held at member organizations within North and South Carolina. It is expected that the scholarship award will cover the full cost of attending these events, including a hotel stay and/or rental car if necessary.
· Registration and travel expenses for APRA International’s Annual Regional Conference (ARC). This is a three-day conference (to be held in Atlanta March 13-15, 2017). It is expected that the scholarship award will cover the entire cost of attending this event.
· Registration and travel expenses for APRA International’s annual Prospect Development conference. This is a four-day conference, to be held in Anaheim, CA in July 2017. It is expected that the scholarship award will cover the registration fee for the conference, as well as a stipend for travel expenses. The recipient’s organization will need to provide some funding (estimated $500-$1,000) in order to cover the full cost of attendance.
One scholarship award winner will be selected annually. The recipient will be expected to write a blog post about his/her experience at the conference(s) upon returning home. All receipts for travel expenses must be turned in to the chapter treasurer in order to receive reimbursement.
To apply send a narrative (requirements below) to firstname.lastname@example.org with APRA Carolinas Professional Development Scholarship as the subject. The deadline for applications is November 11, 2016. The recipient will be notified by November 23, 2016. Applicants must be current members of APRA-Carolinas (you may join at the time of applying).
In 500 words or less, prepare a narrative as to how you plan to use the scholarship in order to support your professional development goals. Please be sure to explain your financial need, and confirm that your supervisor has approved your attendance at the conference(s) if you are selected for the scholarship. Let us know if you are a member of any local/regional professional development groups. You may also include any additional information you'd like the committee to consider, such as professional achievements, proven leadership within and outside your organization, and volunteer participation with local/regional groups. Selection is based on merit and financial need.
